DOWNTOWN EMPLOYEE COMMUTE SURVEY RESULTS

Help us understand how Missoula's workforce moves.

Missoula In Motion, in partnership with the Missoula Parking Commission, conducted the first ever Downtown Commute Survey to begin to better understand how our workforce moves. The process consisted of two separate surveys:

1. An Employer Profile which captured the facilities, policies and programs offered by employers and

2. An Employee Survey which aimed to understand the transportation habits of downtown employees and the factors and motivations behind the choices they make when it comes to commuting.

Providing an in-depth look at how our community moves, the survey results inform Missoula In Motion’s efforts to encourage sustainable commute options through education and encouragement programming. The survey results also serve as baseline data for efforts to explore future requirements for large downtown employers.

The Employer Profile were submitted online, mailed in, or scanned and emailed back. Members of the Missoula Downtown Association were mailed a paper copy of the profile along with a prepaid return envelope.

Quick online surveys were distributed to staff employed at your workplace location. Email templates were available to copy, paste and send. We also offered posters and flyers to place in breakrooms/common spaces at the office to encourage and remind people to take the survey.

Missoula In Motion, in partnership with City of Missoula and the Missoula Parking Commission are sought to better understand employee commute habits, employee needs when it comes to commuting and where the City could improve and encourage commute options that save money, reduce emissions, and mitigate congestion.

This Employer Profile and Employee Survey applied to any business/organization operating in the downtown Missoula boundary area.
