Bus

Missoula’s Mountain Line is a convenient, affordable and less-stressful alternative to driving. There are none of the usual hassles of driving and parking, no high gas prices to consider and lots of freedom to read, drink coffee, study or prepare for meetings. Best of all, since one forty-foot bus full of commuters is equivalent to a line of moving automobiles stretching 6 blocks, riders on Mountain Line can rest easy knowing that they are helping to reduce traffic congestion, pollution, noise, accidents, and the amount of land used for roads and parking.

All Mountain Line buses are biodiesel fueled and fares range from free to just $1. Many employers and The University of Montana have EZ Pass programs. Monthly and 11-ride tickets are also available. Fares are listed in the schedule.

Pick up a schedule at the Transfer Center or contact Mountain Line at 721-3333 or Mountain Line

Finding your Mountain Line route just got easier! A comprehensive online trip-planning tool for Missoula is available through Google Transit, type in your start address, destination and time. Then click on "get directions" and Google will return with customized options including route numbers, time schedules, pick-up points and travel time. Results even include money saved by choosing transit instead of driving alone. The Mountain Line demystified! Check it out and spread the word.
